Where youth achieve
Every Youth Deserves a Chance to be Happy, Healthy and Loved
We are helping children and adolescents heal through play and artistic expression with a variety of group therapy classes including creative dance, theater, drama, music, arts and crafts and therapeutic play. We will also offer journaling, creative writing and songwriting. These are some of the activities ElRod will offer ages two to 20 to give them an outlet to express themselves so they can process life’s hills and valleys in a safe and nurturing environment.
Targeted therapy will be in the form of group therapy classes and will feature a prominent artist from the community and a licensed professional counselor who specializes in children or adolescents. This unique pairing will allow the young clients to learn artistic skills and expression, while processing mental health and emotional issues at the same time.
A message from the Board of Directors of ElRod Center. It's been brought to the attention of the board and volunteers that there have been some concerns expressed on social media in regards to the services that we're providing in the community ElRod Center is dedicated to helping youth achieve functional wellness through creative, innovative, and research-based methods. Our purpose is to promote recovery, resiliency, wellness, independence and safety for individuals receiving mental health services and support. Standards for services and support are person-directed, youth-guided, family-driven, culturally competent, trauma-informed, wellness-informed, and promote functional and rehabilitative outcomes for individuals that are developmentally appropriate. ElRod Center is committed to providing a work and treatment environment that promotes healing and allows people to flourish. All individuals are considered for entry without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender presentation, sexual orientation, religion, familial status, marital status, creed, national origin, and age. We are inclusive with all individuals and provide a safe place for children and families to seek services. Conversion Therapy is illegal in the State of Oregon and something that ElRod Center does not support. We feel it is also immoral and unethical, and do not condone its use under any circumstances. Our heart is to serve our community with integrity. We are committed to serving and pledge to continually grow and evaluate how we can best serve every child and family that comes into the Center. Please know this is your Center, if you have any questions or concerns please reach out directly to our Clinical Director, Marian Stiegeler, LPC and she will be happy to chat with you.
